How Math Center started
Hi, my name is Lucia, I am the mother of 4 kids. I worked for over 20 years as a finance professional and left my last position in early 2020. Then COVID 19 pandemic arrived. Being at home for months with my kids I was trying to look for educational resources to keep them on track with the learning plans while schools were closed. I found that there are some very nice websites but mostly in English and usually not entirely free.
I believe math should be accessible for everyone! This was when my family and I thought of the idea to establish a website that will enable parents free access to resources and worksheets to help their children learn.
As I am not a math teacher I partnered with a US website which already had thousands of pages written by an expert. We translated them and partnered with local teachers to adapt to local learning plans. This way, when you choose a country the grades and topics will match the specific country.
The vision
Our vision is to allow parents free access to a variety of math learning resources and worksheets, so every child who needs help in math will be able to get it at home.
How to use the website
Math Center addresses ages from pre-Kindergarten and till 6th grade, and provides you:
Answer sheets
All worksheets have a separate answers sheet! So when you want your child to practice a topic you don't need to master it yourself or spend time solving it. you can save time by checking the answers page.
Filter the content
You can filter your search results by category: worksheets, fun games and puzzles, coloring pages or learning resources
Search easily
You can search by topic or grade (or both) using the menu and checking the box.
Graded sheets
The worksheets are numbered so that the 1st would be the entry level and more advanced versions would come next. We also stamp our worksheets with a level stamp from basic through advanced and up to challenge.
Explanation pages
Our learning resources include explanation pages as for some of us parents it's been a while since we were at elementary school calculating our own fractions or multiplication facts… and for some these pages offer ways to teach our kids.
full curriculum
We also provide the full curriculum per grade and country, so if you are not sure what your child should know you can use these sheets to check the plan in your country.
We hope you enjoy the website
We welcome any comments/suggestions
Good luck!
