In the third year of elementary school, your child will use the skills acquired in the previous years and continue developing their number sense.
They will calculate more advanced addition and subtraction exercises and will also be able to solve multiplication and division problems.
In geometry, they will learn about angles and calculate the area of a square and a rectangle.
Other subjects in this year’s curriculum are fractions, converting basic units of measurements, measuring the perimeter of 2D shapes, telling the exact time and converting between a 12 and 24-hour clock, money problems with amount and change, basic graph problems, algebraic number sequences, and more.
3rd Grade Learning plan
The main subjects learned in the 3rd-grade year are number sense up to 10,000, three-digit place value, roman numerals up to 100, three and four-digit addition and subtraction, the tables of multiplication, money problems with prices, the concept of angles and types of angles, properties of geometric figures and the area of squares and rectangles.
